Attempts Being Made to Demonise Technology, Says PM Modi

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday cautioned against efforts to "demonise" technology, saying attempts are being made to create an atmosphere of fear.
Addressing a gathering at his official residence at the launch of a book, he said "major effort is being made to demonise technology. Attempts are being made to create an atmosphere of fear".

He said the debate should not be on the dangers of artificial intelligence or when will robots outsmart humans. "But the debate should be on how to create a bridge between artificial intelligence and human intentions."
The prime minister stressed on the need to understand that technology is a bridge and not a divider. "Technology builds bridge between aspirations and achievement, demand and delivery, government and governance in order to achieve 'sabka saath, sabka vikas' (with all, for everyone's development)," he said according to a statement issued by his office.
The book 'Bridgital India' has been co-authored by N Chandrasekaran, the chairman of Tata Sons, and Roopa Purushothaman, the Chief Economist at Tata Sons.

Centre treating Gujarat as an enemy state: Narendra Modi

Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi has accused the Centre of treating Gujarat as an 'enemy' state in an exclusive Interview to CNN-IBN's editor-in-chief Rajdeep Sardesai.

Modi also claimed that he never questioned expenses on Sonia Gandhi's health, but only on her foreign travel.

I've not targeted any individual. Whatever is being said about Gujarat, I want to keep the right facts before the people. Gujarat is not fighting against Centre. We have complaint that in the last eight years the central government has treated Gujarat like an enemy state. They have treated Gujarat in a way what is also not expected for an enemy nation. The central agencies are being used against Gujarat.
Gujarat is the growth engine of the country today. But the central government only for political reasons is not leaving any chance to ruin the state.

Modi said that he is only focusing on the Gujarat Elections and that reports of his prime ministerial ambitions and wanting to move to Delhi after the Gujarat's assembly elections is only rumors from media. Nothing is true in it.
